Flexible Storage & Inventory

A large shoe manufacturing company was experiencing rapid expansion -- they needed secondary space for the bulk of their inventory, so they could have more space to process outbound orders. Citi-Cargo & Storage was able to accommodate their growing needs in our warehouses. We hauled their product to our facilities, where we managed the inventory by pallet and barcode. When inventory was needed, we pulled their order and shipped the same day.

An End-To-End Solution

Citi-Cargo & Storage works magic behind the scenes for a Fortune 500 company that provides patio furniture across the country. Directly from the orient, Citi-Cargo receives several hundred containers with hundreds of SKUs. Handling these large items through our 312,000 square foot warehouse frees up space in their distribution center to handle the conveyable merchandise. We manage all picking, labeling, scanning and shipping to destinations in the 48 states on a daily bases. Knowing we have the space and capabilities of handling large quantities, they don’t have to worry about working out of several off-site locations.

But it doesn't end there: Citi-Cargo & Storage also provides trailers for storage for return goods, distribution services to move their return goods to liquidators and for shuttling product between their various facilities, and during peak holiday seasons provides extra trailers & container storage for overflow product storage.

Working with Tight Timelines

Citi-Cargo & Storage works with associations that improve the employability and community integration of adults with disabilities and other challenges to facilitate massive shipping operations. We start by consolidating several items that will be sorted and packaged in promotional boxes at their location, then returned on shrink-wrapped pallets, to our warehouse for outbound distribution -- in a very short window. By speeding their distribution process, we provide them the time line to process very large orders and work with Fortune 500 companies. And since we also provide pickup and delivery between the various locations, their space is freed for packaging.

Coordinated Rail and Cross-Dock Services

Rising fuel prices have forced companies to trim distribution costs, and with our rail services Citi-Cargo & Storage is well-positioned to help. Several customers use our rail service to bring in large quantities of merchandise. We cross-dock some and warehouse the balance, then pull from their inventory as needed in smaller quantities. From tomato paste to baling twine, we've been able to streamline costs while maintaining the highest standards of service.

Equipment Leasing

Several Fortune 500 companies leverage our inventory of leased containers, storage trailers, and road trailers for seasonal fluctuations in inventory and distribution needs. Our equipment is used for over-the-road hauling to various retail stores as well as product storage in onsite containers for peak season overflow. By reducing their needs to purchase and maintain massive fleets of containers and trailers even during low periods, they are able to reduce overall costs and keep their focus on the retail end of their operations.
